Link Building 101 - Trading Links
Trading links, also known as “reciprocal links” or “link partners” are arranged when two web sites agree to link to each other. Trading links helps in 2 ways.
1) Trading links plays a major role in boosting your rankings in search engines
2) They increase traffic to your website, generated from people who click on the links.
When determining rankings, search engines take into account the number and quality of sites that link to you. One way to find reciprocal links is to do searches in Google and Yahoo to find sites which complement yours but are not your direct competitors.
Here’s what we recommend:
-Find GOOD QUALITY, complementary sites. (It’s quality not quantity)
-Email the owner of the site a short, friendly note, praising something on the site. If you can’t find something worth praising, delete the site from your list.
-Tell the website owner that you’d like to exchange links and ask for a link back to your site.
-If you’re unsuccessful via email, try calling or snail mail. Persistence will pay.
-Keep an alphabetical record of sites you’ve linked to and requested links from. You need to know who you’ve contacted and who you haven’t.

How to add your web address to SuperPages
This post is detailed instructions on how to add your website and business listing to SuperPages.
1. Open a web browser and go to www.superpages.com
2. Click on ‘Add or Edit a Business’ (See Above)
3. Enter your phone number. This will determine whether or not you have a listing already in superpages.
4. Once you are in the Add or Edit area make sure to enter all possible information about your business including email address and web address.
5. Make sure to take full advantage of your listing by adding in all details on your business. This area is especially good for search engines. You can add in a lot of good keywords for your business.
6. Add yourself to categories which apply to you. You can add your listing into a total of 5 categories for free. It to your benefit to add yourself into as many categories as you can in order to come up in more areas and searches.
7. Complete your listing and add your personal information to your account and set a password. Don’t forget your password! You’ll need it if you ever need to change business details or your business address in the future.
